Artist Information for Deb Cashatt of Pixeladies
Deb Cashatt and fellow SAQA member Kris Sazaki form the Pixeladies. They explain their art with three C’s: cloth, computer, collaboration. They learned that cloth can help shape meaning, depending on how they use it. Add to that computer technology, which allows them to manipulate the fiber's surface to create textual tension while forming their aesthetic message. Finally, through the collaborative process they draw out one another’s talents in surprising ways. Collaboration is sometimes challenging but amazingly stimulating and productive. Deb currently serves as chair of the SAQA Special Events Committee.
